Item: #018. A very fine grooved shell plummet from
Tick Island, Volusia County, Florida measuring 1 3/4" long and 3/4" wide. Excellent symmetry and classic form. It is manufactured
from the center whorl of a conch shell. Nice quality.

#017. A remarkable Safety Harbor period shell plummet/pendant
made from the columella of most likely either a Queen or Lightning Whelk. About 4 1/4" long. Pendant has been beautifully
smoothed and polished and is exceptionally long for it's type, with a nice suspension ring. Found in Central Florida. Former
Dr Albert Welberry collection. A Museum Quality pendant which is moderately patinated. Certificate of Authenticity: Carlos

This high grade plummet is ground flat on the back side as is commonly seen on Central Florida examples of expanded center
plummets.

Item #97. An Oyster Shell Pendant/Spoon drilled for
suspension measuring 6 1/2" long. It was found at the Gordon Palmer site now known as "Historic Spanish Point", in Osprey,
Florida. This multi-cultural site was excavated by Ripley P Bullen in 1959, 1960, and again in 1962. The Palmer site
is referenced by "The Florida Anthropological Society publication number 8, 1976. Former collection of Ralph W Burnworth.

Florida shell disk beads. These items are seldom found on Florida's coastal sites compared to other associated artifacts.
They average about 1/2" in diameter.

Item: #2A7. A rare Calusa "Lions Paw" (lyropecten nodosus)
bivalve two hole Shell Gorget measuring 4 7/8" wide and 4 3/8" tall. It is drilled for suspension, and is whole and intact.
This gorget was found at Key Marco, on the Southwestern coast of Florida. (500 A.D. to 900 A.D.) There
were 49 atlantic yellow cowry (cyrraea acicularis) beads/tinklers found associated with the gorget. It has a Tom Davis
certificate of authenticity (grade 8), and was formerly in the famous Edward Payne collection.
